CONTACT US

Tiffany Todd is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who works from a body-based, bottom-up perspective, helping clients understand how their emotional experiences are shaped and held within the nervous system. She approaches each client with genuine care, curiosity, and deep respect for the ways their experiences have taken form over time.

Tiffany specializes in working with individuals who feel stuck despite having insight into their patterns, particularly those navigating anxiety, strong emotions, or a sense of disconnection from themselves. Her work centers on helping clients notice what is happening in their bodies, where emotional responses begin, and how these responses organize into patterns that influence how they experience themselves, their relationships, and the world around them.

She integrates EMDR, somatic awareness, and cognitive therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic approaches. While these frameworks guide the work, her approach remains tailored to each individual, with a consistent focus on the connection between body and mind. Rather than focusing only on changing thoughts, Tiffany supports clients in building awareness, increasing their capacity to stay with emotions, and working with their experiences in ways that feel more sustainable.

Her clinical work is closely aligned with the ideas in her book, Feeling Your Feelings from the Bottom Up, which offers a practical, body-based approach to understanding and working with emotions through the nervous system.

Tiffany has worked with diverse populations including adolescents, veterans, disabled young adults, and adults of all ages, in both individual and group settings. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. In her free time, you’ll likely find her with her nose in a book, writing or tending to her porch garden.

From a young age, I watched a close family member struggle with agoraphobia, panic attacks, and anxiety. Her world gradually became smaller, limited to home and a few familiar places. With the support of a licensed clinical social worker, that began to shift. Through consistent care and practical tools, her anxiety became more manageable, and her world slowly expanded again.

Witnessing that change shaped how I understand this work. It showed me the value of having someone who can sit with you in what feels overwhelming, and how powerful it can be to build change in a way that feels possible and grounded.

1. What attracted you to being a psychotherapist?

Questions

My approach is grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own experience. I work from a client-centered, strengths-based perspective, while also paying close attention to how your body is responding beneath the surface.

Together, we slow things down enough to notice what is happening in real time, not only in your thoughts, but in your nervous system and physical experience. From there, we begin to understand how your responses have taken shape and how they may be influencing the way you move through your life.

I bring active listening, curiosity, and a steady presence to the work, along with space for humor and lightness when it naturally arises.

2. How would you describe your approach with your clients?

There are a few that I return to often in this work.

To live in the present moment is a miracle. The miracle is not to walk on water. The miracle is to walk on the green earth in the present moment, to appreciate the peace and beauty that are available now.
– Thich Nhat Hanh

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” – Rumi

“An abnormal response to an abnormal situation is normal behavior.” – Viktor Frankl

3. What's your favorite quote about mental health?

What I value most about this work is the opportunity to witness change as it unfolds. I get to watch people reconnect with parts of themselves, recognize their own capacity, and begin responding to their lives in new ways.

There is something powerful about seeing those shifts carry beyond the therapy room and into everyday moments and relationships. Much of this work is quiet and gradual, and I continue to feel a deep respect for the process each client moves through.
