I have always been driven to learn and grow within the field of mental health. I knew early on that I wanted a career centered on supporting and advocating for others. As an undergraduate, I was drawn to the art therapy program at my school, where I discovered a powerful way to merge my passion for art with psychotherapy. Through my internships, my curiosity deepened, leading me to pursue further education and training in mental health counseling. During my master’s program, I focused on expanding my understanding of both counseling and art therapy. Since completing my education, I continue to grow as a mental health professional, remaining deeply committed to helping others.
1. What attracted you to being a psychotherapist?
I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where individuals can be their authentic selves. By practicing unconditional positive regard, I help clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and what brought them to therapy. I am committed to cultural sensitivity and awareness, ensuring that each client’s background is honored in the therapeutic process. I am also passionate about incorporating art therapy for those who are interested, as it can be a powerful tool for expression—especially when thoughts and emotions are difficult to put into words.
2. How would you describe your approach with your clients?
“Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another, and feeling with the heart of another” - Alfred Adler
