In her free time, Arianna enjoys attending & watching Chicago sports (specifically the Bears and Cubs), spending time with loved ones, and playing card or video games.

Questions

1. What attracted you to being a psychotherapist?

As a kid, the job I imagined myself having always changed. The common denominator was always wanting a job that helped others. As I got older and continued into higher education, I was able to combine that want with my love for psychology and social work. I enjoy being able to grow and learn along with my clients, all while doing what I love!

2. How would you describe your approach with your clients?

Beginning therapy can be scary. My goal with clients is to create an environment that is warm, welcoming, and supportive. Creating a positive environment leads to creating a positive connection, which is very important to me as a therapist. I also believe that therapy has no one set look, pace or style. I will always help guide clients and check in on what is working, or sometimes what isn’t working. However, I always encourage my clients to be open and honest with me.

3. What's your favorite quote about mental health?

“Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity, and change.” - Brené Brown

4. What has surprised you the most about being a psychotherapist?

Therapy has the stigma that every session must be profound and emotionally intense. Throughout my career, I found it surprising that therapy is equal parts intense as it is celebratory. Both are essential to growth and healing, and knowing my clients can confidently express their emotions from the highs and lows in session is beyond rewarding for both of us!
