CONTACT US

Ana is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Art Therapist (ATR-P) who utilizes trauma-informed, person-centered approaches to support clients in navigating life’s challenges. With a focus on fostering self-insight, boosting self-esteem, and building resilience, Ana works collaboratively with clients to help them heal and grow through creative expression and therapeutic techniques.

Ana brings three years of experience working in an inpatient hospital setting, where she provided therapy to individuals living through chronic illnesses, mental health crises, economic disparities, and complex traumas. In this role, Ana honed her ability to meet clients where they are, exploring aspects of their lives one step at a time. She is a firm believer that every client has a guiding inner voice and is dedicated to helping them strengthen their sense of self and trust in their own intuition.

Ana received her Bachelors in Fine Arts at Columbia College Chicago, and a Masters in Counseling: Art Therapy at Adler University. She integrates a variety of therapeutic modalities, including trauma-based therapies, multicultural counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and art therapy. Through these approaches, Ana helps clients gain a deeper understanding of their inner voice and the life patterns that may be slowing down their journey toward personal success and fulfillment.

I’ve always been deeply curious about people—their stories, inner workings, family dynamics, past experiences, and cultural backgrounds. While training to become a therapist, I recognized the significant need for more diverse representation in the field. As a queer Latina therapist, I feel truly honored to be a part of so many individuals' journeys, offering support when they need it most.

1. What attracted you to being a psychotherapist?

Questions

My approach is warm, collaborative, and personalized. I believe therapy should be as unique as the individual, and there is no "one-size-fits-all" solution. Together, we will create goals and a plan that aligns with your current needs, knowing that these may evolve over time. I aim to go beyond simply identifying challenges – I work to understand their roots, explore the purpose they’ve served, and identify new, positive systems to replace them. My ultimate goal is for you to feel heard, validated, and empowered to build a deeper, more trusting relationship with all of the past and present versions of you.

2. How would you describe your approach with your clients?

“Trauma creates change you don’t choose. Healing is about creating change you do choose.”
– Michele Rosenthal

Healing is a practice, not a talent. Healing is treating every version of you with kindness and compassion, rather than shame or judgment. It is in the small, everyday choices that create positive change and foster a safe space for you to grow.

3. What's your favorite quote about mental health?

I am constantly learning—from the clients I work with to the ever-evolving research in the field. Each day brings new perspectives, fueling my curiosity and deepening my desire to personalize my approach. It is truly profound to dedicate my career to witnessing and honoring the stories of others. Just as I am a part of your journey, you are a meaningful part of mine.
